Losing Dignity Amidst the Noise

Today, in 2026, talking about human rights is not just about reading a legal text, but about rediscovering the rhythm of a life worthy of humanity . Rights are not "gifts" bestowed upon us from above like a favor. They are living organisms demanded, won, and sustained in the streets, in the fields, in digital spaces, and with every breath.

Are there any "small" rights in the shadow of war?

While bombs are falling in some parts of the world, and the right to life is being shaken in its most raw and painful form, it may seem like a luxury to some for someone else to talk about "cultural rights," "the right to the city," or "clean air." Yet I know that the integrity of a story lies in its details.

If today, in the shadow of wars and major crises, we abandon defending our second-generation rights—social and economic justice such as education, health, and housing—and our third-generation rights—peace, a clean environment, cultural heritage, and solidarity—then when peace comes tomorrow, there will be no ground left for us to stand on. Human rights are an indivisible whole. Protecting a city's trees and protecting a person's dignity are within the same lens. When one falls, the rest of the frame darkens.

A Matter of Dignity

Human rights are not just about reporting violations, but about the daily reconstruction of human dignity . That's why the concept of "human dignity" is my compass. In this age where digital algorithms turn us into data, everything from our right to choose to our right to mourn, from our access to clean food to our right to tell stories in our own language, is a field of resistance.

Speaking for Tomorrow

To speak of peace and rights in 2026 is not naive optimism, but a conscious effort to make an impact. It doesn't have to be for today. Some words are spoken for tomorrow . We continue to speak in these spaces today because we know that history will record not only those who fought, but also those who preserved the memory of the city amidst the ruins, those who envisioned a just future for children, and those who said, "I am here, I will not give up my right."

Our message is not only to heal the wounds of today, but also to leave a legacy of "a world lived with humanity" for the children of tomorrow. Wherever we turn our eyes, our cameras, our pens, our focus will always remain on the unchanging dignity of humanity .

"Rights breathe when they are demanded; they touch life when they are shared."

Together, despite all the noise, let's continue to write, film, and defend the story of dignity and rights.
