We transformed our hopes for the future and our 'good ideas' about the world into musical notes. As a director, my aim was to bring these visual notes to "meetings of hope" and imagine the future together. In this event, realized through the collaboration of valuable institutions such as Kırkayak Kültür, Mekanda Adalet Derneği (MAD), Stiftung Mercator, ALDA, and The Place, exchanging ideas with all stakeholders and participants was exciting. Contributing to the collective energy and the 'SPACEs - Social Paths' vision that this meeting will create, in the name of building a shared future, was invaluable.
From Sorrow to Hope: A Journey Through Collective Memory We witnessed not only a disaster, but also a test of human dignity and solidarity. The raw footage provided by my friends Ulaş Beşoklar, Gürcan Öztürk, and Cevat Ezgin, who recorded the heavy silence and loneliness of the first days in the region, was not just a video for me, but a treasure of memory that needed to be preserved. Taking on the editorial responsibility of this process, we transformed these scattered fragments from 11 cities into narratives. My perspective was based on the idea that these recordings should remain not just as "news," but as evidence of the ongoing struggle for life. Over time, this individual effort wove together a network of collective solidarity. This film, shaped around the Hatay Symphony Orchestra, is not just a technical production, but a work of labor and unity of purpose.
In our Video Editing classes, we aim to transform raw footage into vibrant projects by exploring the rhythm of images and the power of storytelling; In Motion Graphics training, we aim to elevate visual communication to a higher level by adding movement and dynamism to static designs; And in the Creative Design module, we aim to combine the fundamental principles of visual aesthetics with modern digital trends.
My social responsibility projects are independent productions addressing themes such as sustainable living, rural migration, urban agriculture, ecology, and human stories. These films, often prepared from an environmental and philosophical perspective, explore the relationship between nature and humanity. Most films are in documentary format and are available at festivals or on online platforms.
Cinematic narrative is not merely a sequence of visuals, but the reconstruction of meaning within a rhythmic order. In this journey, we go beyond descriptions, blending the abstract concepts at the heart of the story with technical discipline.
