Amidst the roar of the city, the relentless traffic, and the ever-spreading concrete, we all find ourselves searching for a moment of stillness—a space to breathe. My film, "Ode to Compost," seeks out that very oasis within the cracks of the urban landscape.
This isn’t just a story about the technical process of turning kitchen scraps into soil; it is a story about resilience—about the refusal to give up. We are witnesses to how something destined for decay can, with the right care and a little patience, be transformed into a life-giving treasure. Seeing the spark in the eyes of "urban farmers" as their hands meet the earth on the balconies and hidden gardens of Istanbul reminded me once again: our most powerful weapons against the climate crisis are hope and circularity.

Why Compost? Because in nature, there is no such thing as waste—only transformation. Through this film, we wanted to challenge the modern definition of "trash" and reclaim it as "life." That silent revolution, starting inside a small bucket, is perhaps our most potent manifesto for the future of our cities.
I cannot wait to share the excitement of this journey and the quiet song of the earth with all of you. Having you join our story and become a part of this cycle truly means the world to me.
A Special Note: I invite you all to join me for our festival screening in Athens on April 28, 2026, where we can dive deeper into the story of the earth together. I look forward to seeing you there.
